National Security Minister Albert Kan Dapaah has warned of potential electoral violence ahead of Ghana's 2024 general elections.
Speaking at the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference, he stressed the importance of peace and stability during elections, noting past incidents of near-violence.
He emphasized that such threats could undermine Ghana's democratic integrity, despite the country's history of peaceful power transitions.
Dapaah urged vigilance given the heightened stakes and fervent aspirations of the major political parties, warning that the outcome could incite violence.
Most Reverend Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi echoed this, urging parties to accept results peacefully and discouraging Ghanaians from being manipulated by politicians.
