NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has pledged to pay living allowances to paramount and divisional chiefs as well as queen mothers if elected president.
He emphasized that this financial support would empower traditional authorities to effectively support the government's initiatives for national development.
Dr. Bawumia made this promise during a meeting with the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs as part of his campaign tour, highlighting plans to amend section 63 (D) of the Chieftaincy Act.
He stressed that empowering chiefs financially is crucial for them to fulfill their roles in governance.
