The Volta Regional Police command has arrested five ersons believed to be former constituency executives of the New Patriotic Party Party (NPP) for forcibly removing the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Krachi West, Douglas Osei-Nti from his office.
The suspects also locked the office after throwing him away preventing him from performing his official duties without recourse to the law.
The suspects were arrested in connection with a melee that occurred at the premises of the district office in the Region.
It is unknown the reason for their disturbances and assault on the DCE but the suspects are believed to former ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency executives for Krachi west.
The suspects according to the police, are being investigated for assault by imprisonment, offensive conduct and causing unlawful damage among.
The suspects include: Mathias Banyolonso, Sarfo Sunkwa, Amos Eseikor, Tijani Shaibu and Murtala Yakubu.
The police in statement assured to provide adequate security for all citizens and residents of Ghana.
