The Minority in Parliament has raised concerns over the drastic increase in the cost of the Flower Pot Interchange project in Accra.
Originally awarded in 2016 for GH¢69.5 million, the project’s price has escalated to nearly GH¢700 million, with the final cost expected to approach GH¢1 billion.
Governs Kwame Agbodza, Minority Chief Whip, has called for transparency and a clear explanation from the government, questioning if factors like exchange rates or changes in the project scope are to blame.
He urged President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia to address the rising costs and provide accountability as the project nears completion.
