Superintendent Peter Lanchene Tuubo, a former Executive Secretary to the former Inspector General of Police, David Asante Apeatu has humiliated the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for Wa West.

The retired senior police officer polled 755 as against 317 garnered veteran politician and former Minister of Local Government and Rural Development Joseph Yieleh Chireh to represent the NDC in 2020.

Superintendent Peter Lanchene Tuubo has retired voluntarily from the Police Service in May this year to contest as a parliamentary candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Wa West.

He was among 46 people who have picked up nomination forms to contest in the parliamentary primaries in all the eleven constituencies of the Upper West region.

Superintendent Peter Lanchene Tuubo is fondly remembered for his infamous presentation on corruption within the police service and how the public perceives personnel of the service which went viral on various social media platforms.

The Former Commonwealth Hall President of the University of Ghana disclosed that even though he was going to become a youth organizer of a particular political party upon completion but he towed a different lane and became a policeman.

Even with that, there was still pressure for him but he stayed off because politics could interfere with his professional work as a policeman until he finally decided to go into it thereby resigning from his position as Executive Secretary to the Inspector General of Police.

“The people of Wa West since 2010 has been impressing upon me to come and contest and because of the work I do as a police officer, I was really not interested but the pressure mounted and mounted and I think the most beautify thing to do is to respond to the call of the people who took care of you when you were going up”. He revealed in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
