Ghana card has eliminated all ghost names on govt’s payroll – Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party's flagbearer, has reiterated his commitment to eradicating ghost names from the government payroll during his recent tour in Bawjiase, Awutu Senya West.

He emphasized ongoing scrutiny of the payroll database to prevent unauthorized access to government funds.

Bawumia highlighted the success of the government's digitalization efforts, notably through the Ghana Card, which helped identify and remove 29,000 ghost names from the SSNIT payroll, saving 400,000 cedis, and 44,000 from the National Service Scheme, saving over 300 million cedis.

He assured that his administration will maintain a corruption-free payroll system.
