‘Ghana will be better of without Ken Agyapong in Parliament’ – Kofi Adams

Former National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams believes there will be some kind of sanity in Ghana’s Parliament if Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong leaves the lawmaking chamber.

Kennedy Agyapong, a known financier of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) announced last week he will not run for the parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2020 elections.

He told NPP supporters at Nyankumasi in his constituency that he feels cheated by his party hence it will be needless to contribute towards his party’s campaign ahead of the general elections.

“They feel they are wise but that is all of it. They will take me to Central Region and say the 23 constituencies Kennedy Agyapong the foolish one should use his money to support the party, I will not do it again. If I do not tell them then I am lying”, he fumed.

“The party has not treated me fairly at all. When the Anas video came out, if I tell you the truth, you will not believe…I won’t say everything because we are in public,” he said.

To him, Anas was doing a good job but some leaders of the NPP came to him at night and asked him to defend the party since Anas’ works would disgrace the NPP, adding “I left the house at night just to go and defend my party on radio.”

But reacting to the controversial MP’s latest remarks on Ete Sen hosted by Kwame Minkah on Radio XYZ 93.1, Kofi Adams stated that the utterances of Mr Agyapong has not contributed to Ghana in any better way so if he wants to bow out of politics and be out of Parliament, the political scene will see some decorum.

He however wondered if Kennedy Agyapong will still allow himself to be used by his party as he has already revealed.
