The Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation (STC), Nana Akomea, has expressed dissatisfaction with the government's efforts against illegal mining, or galamsey, despite significant commitments.
Speaking on Joy FM, he emphasized the persistent challenges, noting, "Every President has made efforts to stop illegal mining, but the results remain unsatisfactory."
Akomea praised Joy FM's investigative work, highlighting the need for new strategies.
Despite initiatives like Operation Vanguard and Operation Halt under President Akufo-Addo, public dissatisfaction persists due to perceived lack of progress and alleged involvement of government appointees in galamsey activities.
