“Gov’t is not selling any hotels; it is floating shares” – Palgrave on SSNIT hotels sale saga

Government spokesperson Palgrave Boakye-Danquah has clarified that the Akufo-Addo administration is not selling SSNIT hotels but is instead floating 60% of the shares to boost revenue and involve private sector expertise.

This clarification follows protests led by MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who opposes the transaction. Boakye-Danquah emphasized that this strategy is not "state capture" but a necessary investment move.

Despite criticisms and a petition to halt the deal, SSNIT continues discussions to transfer shares to Rock City Hotel, owned by Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong.

The government insists this approach will benefit SSNIT's investment value chain.
