The New Patriotic Party Volta Regional Secretary, Joseph Homenya, has assured the Akufo-Addo-led-government is commitment to complete projects started by the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration in the Volta Region.

This he said was evident in the completion of the Ho Airport, which the erstwhile Mahama government paid only 10% of the construction cost before exiting office, though the project was 90% completed.

“...having resolved the gargantuan debts the reckless and clueless Mahama administration left behind, the responsible NPP Government has ensured the completion of the Ho airport...”, he stated in a rejoinder to a press statement issued by the Volta Region Secretariat of the opposition NDC, accusing the Akufo-Addo government of abandoning projects started by former President Mahama.

He further indicated that the government is making frantic efforts to resume and complete construction of the GhC 98 million Sokode-Ho dual carriage road project, by meeting its financial obligations, which the NDC government failed to do.

Mr Homenya who chastised the NDC for questioning the frequent visits by President Akufo-Addo to the Volta Region, stressed the visits are to give the President opportunity to listen to the plights of the people at first-hand and as he endeavours to solve them.

He, however, directed the NDC to the Ministry of Special Development Initiatives and the Coastal Development Authority to address their concerns on the number of projects the Volta Region had benefited under the $1 million per constituency policy.
