Professor Gyampo has expressed concern over the increasing polarization among Ghana's youth, which he believes threatens effective governance and allows opportunistic politicians to thrive.
He noted that politicians have long recognized the influence of young people and have established youth wings, such as TEIN and TESCON, to mobilize support.
However, this has led to factionalism, where one group's demonstration against injustices is often countered by another, creating division and hindering good governance.
This polarization enables political parties to prioritize appeasing their base over enacting policies that benefit the broader population, leading to bad governance.
