Hohoe: Controversial voter registration ruling faces High Court challenge

In Ghana’s Hohoe constituency, allegations of voter registration irregularities have escalated to a legal battle with two appeals filed in the High Court.

Prosper Kumi and Newton Y. Darkey challenge the District Registration Review Committee's decision to clear hundreds of individuals for voter registration, accusing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of transporting people from Togo for registration.

The NPP denies the allegations.

The appellants seek to overturn the committee's ruling and disqualify 450 challenged registrants, questioning their residency.

The case raises concerns about the integrity of voter registration in Hohoe and its implications for Ghana’s electoral process.
