Professor Godfred Bokpin, an economist at the University of Ghana, has sharply criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for its mishandling of Ghana's economy.
Speaking on Joy FM, he highlighted high inflation, cedi depreciation, and a costly debt restructuring as signs of economic failure.
He argued that while the government celebrates economic recovery, inflation at 22% and a 25% drop in the cedi's value are unsustainable.
Prof. Bokpin suggested it could take 15 years of consistent leadership to restore stability, urging the next government to adopt leaner, more efficient policies.
He also criticized the NPP for prioritizing short-term praise over long-term economic growth.
