Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has apologized for his comments regarding Ghana’s first president, Kwame Nkrumah.
Known as NAPO, Dr. Opoku Prempeh clarified that his remarks were his personal opinion and not meant to disrespect Nkrumah or any former president.
The apology follows backlash after he claimed during his unveiling in Kumasi that no president, including Nkrumah, had performed better than President Akufo-Addo.
Responding to public demand for an apology and retraction, he expressed regret for any discomfort caused and emphasized his respect for all former heads of state, including his grand uncle, John Agyekum Kufuor.
