If we’re ‘smaller parties’ then we should pay reduced filing fees – Nana Yaa Jantuah to EC

Nana Yaa Jantuah, former General Secretary of the Convention People's Party (CPP), has called on the Electoral Commission (EC) to reduce the presidential and parliamentary candidate fees for parties classified as "smaller."

She argued that if smaller parties are expected to compete with larger ones, they should not be required to pay the same fees—currently GH₵100,000 for presidential candidates and GH₵10,000 for parliamentary candidates.

Jantuah contends that electoral performance shouldn't be the sole factor in determining a party's size and criticized the media for focusing disproportionately on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC), to the detriment of other parties.
