The Minority in Parliament has urged President Nana Akufo-Addo to urgently address the deteriorating state of Ghana's environment.
Concerns have grown over issues like illegal mining, deforestation, and pollution.
Alhassan Suhuyini, the Ranking Member on the Lands and Natural Resources Committee, criticized the government's inaction and ineffective enforcement of environmental regulations.
He called for the President to outline concrete measures for environmental rehabilitation and stricter law enforcement, and demanded an immediate statement on the environmental crisis, warning that failure to act could suggest complicity in ongoing environmental degradation.
