Lecturer endorses Free SHS bill

Dr. Daniel Odoom, a Development Studies Expert and senior lecturer, has endorsed the government's proposed Free Senior High School (SHS) bill.

He believed it will empower citizens to hold governments accountable for the policy's sustainability.

A study with 500 respondents showed overwhelming support for the policy. Dr. Odoom noted that making the policy legally binding will safeguard it despite changes in government.

However, he expressed concerns that targeting the policy only to those who need it most may not be effective due to political connections.

He remains optimistic that the two major political parties will reach a consensus on the issue.
