MPs and ministers have heavy workloads, they can’t stay in traffic – Appiah Kubi backs new L.I

Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem North, Andy Appiah Kubi, has defended a new Legislative Instrument (L.I) aimed at amending the Road Traffic Regulations 2012 to grant MPs and Ministers of State privileges typically reserved for emergency vehicles.

The amendment to Regulation 74 of LI 2180 would allow the fitting of sirens or bells on vehicles owned by Supreme Court justices, MPs, and Ministers.

Mr. Kubi argues this change is necessary to help MPs and ministers manage their demanding schedules, avoid traffic delays, and meet project deadlines, thus improving their performance and accountability.
