Roads minister and Member of Parliament for Atiwa West Kwesi Amoako Attah is grieved with what he describes as an unwelcoming atmosphere he and his colleagues in parliament have to endure whenever they visit their constituencies.
The Member of Parliament who was recently in the news for his ballistic rant against insolent road contractors; shared his lamentation addressing a durbar organized to break ground for the construction of some roads in the Atwima Mponua District.
The Honourable Kwesi Attah told the chiefs and residents present that constituents are fond of going about complaining and spreading false news about legislators without the slightest idea of the lobbying and toils they are going through for the development of their constituencies.
He recounted a recent incident where he claimed journalist’s with sinister motives captured bad and swampy roads in his constituency just to paint him black a few days after government allocated funds for some road projects in Atiwa West.
Mr Amoako Attah also pointed to ill motives from an aspiring member of parliament in his constituency fueling agitations and demonstrations about poor roads under his watch as roads minister.
He warned the people of Atwima Mponua of what he posited as the danger of losing a treasure if they dared disappoint their MP, Isaac Asiama who is gunning to retain his seat in the constituency.
Taking a swipe at his critics; the begrudged minister of Roads and Highways noted that bad roads in his own constituency only goes to tell of his honesty in spreading road projects across the country and not concentrating them in his constituency.
