Mahama promises inclusion of creative arts industry in government budgets

John Dramani Mahama, the 2024 Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), pledged to allocate budget funds to the creative arts industry if elected.

Speaking with industry stakeholders, Mahama expressed concern over the impoverished conditions many creatives face, especially in later years. He promised to enforce copyright laws to protect intellectual property rights and emphasized the industry's potential to create jobs.

Mahama highlighted the importance of supporting the creative sector, noting that creatives should be among the most successful individuals in Ghana.

He also shared the story of musician K.K Kabobo, underscoring the need for better support for creatives.
