Majority Leader warns NPP MPs to stop badmouthing each other after Bawumia picks Opoku Prempeh

Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has urged his NPP colleagues to avoid infighting over the party’s running mate selection for the 2024 elections.

At a press conference, he stressed the importance of unity and careful public communication. Afenyo-Markin assured that Dr. Bawumia, in consultation with party elders, will choose a running mate beneficial to the party.

Recently, Dr. Bawumia presented Energy Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as his preferred running mate to President Akufo-Addo, who accepted the choice.

However, some party members, like MP Andy Appiah-Kubi, have voiced their disapproval, questioning Prempeh’s ability to campaign effectively.
