Majority accuses NDC MPs of opposing proposed Free SHS bill

Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has accused the Minority caucus of opposing a bill to make the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy mandatory for future governments.

The bill, approved for parliamentary consideration by Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, aims to regulate and sustain the Free SHS policy.

Afenyo-Markin criticized the Minority, particularly Ranking Member on Education Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, for their opposition, demanding they explain their stance.

He emphasized the necessity of enacting a law to ensure the policy's continuation, questioning whether the Free SHS is a priority for the Minority.
