Minority backs L.I on Cement price regulation

The Minority in Parliament has supported the Legislative Instrument (L.I) introduced by Trade and Industry Minister KT Hammond to regulate cement prices.

The move comes after cement manufacturers boycotted a stakeholder meeting due to the unexpected presence of the media.

The Minority chief whip, Governs Agbodza, welcomed the L.I, stating that initial concerns have been addressed and it no longer poses a threat.

The L.I focuses on price reporting to the committee, rather than price control, making it a non-controversial issue.

The Minority has agreed to support the L.I, which aims to halt the rising cement prices.
