The Minority in Parliament has blocked Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin's request to expedite the vetting and approval of Herbert Krapa as Minister of State-designate for the Energy Ministry.
President Akufo-Addo nominated Krapa, the current Deputy Energy Minister, after Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh was chosen as the NPP's vice-presidential candidate.
Afenyo-Markin appealed for a swift vetting process to avoid a vacancy.
However, Deputy Minority Leader Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah argued there was no urgency since the incumbent Energy Minister remains in office, suggesting proper procedures be followed.
