Minority denies opposition to Free SHS Bill, calls for Educational reforms

The Minority caucus has clarified that they do not oppose the Free SHS bill but urge the government to address current educational challenges.


This follows accusations from Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who claimed the Minority opposed the bill, which mandates future governments to sustain the Free SHS policy.

However, Dr. Clement Apaak, Deputy Ranking Member on Parliament’s Education Committee, reiterated the Minority's commitment to the policy and criticized the Majority for misleading Ghanaians.

He emphasized that the NDC has always supported Free SHS and called for a focus on solving sector issues.
