Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has announced an indefinite boycott of Parliament in protest against Speaker Alban Bagbin's decision to declare four parliamentary seats vacant.

The affected MPs—Cynthia Morrison, Kwadjo Asante, Peter Kwakye Ackah, and Andrew Asiamah—are accused of either running as independents or switching parties for the 2024 elections.

Bagbin's decision aligns with constitutional provisions, shifting the balance of power in Parliament, leaving the NDC with 136 seats and the NPP with 135.

Afenyo-Markin criticized the ruling as politically biased and vowed to resolve the matter through the Supreme Court.
