Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, MP for Tamale Central, has condemned the government's decision to import rice for disaster victims while local farmers struggle to sell their produce.
He argued that the government's annual $2 billion rice importation hurts the economy and neglects local farmers.
Mohammed, a farmer himself, urged the government to support local rice production, citing the absurdity of importing rice while local farmers have unsold produce.
He called for immediate action to address this unconscionable situation.
