NDC failed to deal with illegal mining at its budding stage – Richard Ahiagbah

Richard Ahiagbah, NPP's Director of Communications, has accused the previous NDC government of failing to address illegal mining (galamsey) early on, allowing it to spiral out of control.

He credited the current NPP government's efforts for containing the situation, regularizing small-scale mining, and protecting forest reserves.

Ahiagbah promised that the NPP's flagbearer, Mahamudu Bawumia, will introduce sustainable solutions in the party's manifesto, including alternative livelihood programs to discourage galamsey.

He emphasized that had the NDC acted sooner, the situation wouldn't be as dire.
