2019-12-11NDC’s strange attitude of making U-turns on critical issues shocking – NPP
NPP Director of elections, Evans Nimako
NPP Director of elections, Evans Nimako, has said his party, together with other political parties are shocked at the NDC’s newly adopted behaviour of making U-turns on critical issues.
Reacting to the NDC’s allegations that the EC has gotten worse and they were tricked to sit in a meeting they were not aware of, Mr Nimako said “it’s unfortunate the posture of

“ We are informed by the EC that they needed a system that will be more comprehensive that will be more efficient to support the new registration. The EC today invited us to observe demonstrations by bidders who are bidding from the provision of the new infrastructure,” the NPP Director of Elections said to refute NDC’s claim that the EC never had exhaustive, deliberative preambles with them on the new biometric register for 2020 elections.
The NPP also accused the NDC of wanting to dictate to the EC and because their wants are not met, they are exhibiting these ‘deviant’ behaviours in public which is uncalled for.
However, Mr Nimako noted that the NPP, together with other political parties present for the demonstration of the new biometric register by four bidders are monitoring the activities of the EC, as well as accessing the laws that gives them the mandate to operate and where there are loopholes, pinpoint them for discussions to look for necessary solutions to fix the problem.
NDC, four other parties walk out of IPAC meeting over new biometric register
The NDC, among four other political parties - United Front Party, the Eagle Party, the All People’s Congress, People’s National Congress (PNC) walked out of an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting with the Electoral Commission yesterday.
They tagged the EC with corruption adding that, the electoral body which is supposed to be independent has connived with the ruling New Patriotic Party to introduce a new biometric register for 2020 elections.
They also accused the Electoral Commission, headed by Jean Mensa of not being transparent as she aims at employing inappropriate means to chip in the new biometric register without the consensus of all 27 political parties.
