NPP MP claims his galamsey comment was doctored

Effiduase-Asokore MP, Dr. Nana Ayew Afriye, has claimed that his comments on small-scale mining were doctored to misrepresent his position.

He stated that his remarks at a campaign event were meant to differentiate between responsible and irresponsible mining.

Dr. Afriye accused the media of truncating his statement to suggest that he supports illegal mining, sparking backlash.

He emphasized that while harmful mining practices must be stopped, banning all small-scale mining is not the solution.
