Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has criticised the 5G contract awarded to NextGen InfraCo, questioning its value for money.
The government plans to launch the 5G network within six months. NextGen InfraCo, formed a week before the contract approval, includes the government and seven partners.
Dr. Forson argued that the contract, valued at $6.25 million and 1% annual revenue for 10 years, undervalues the national asset, potentially worth $500 million upfront.
He labeled the deal as highly unfavorable, noting it fails to provide adequate value and short-changes Ghana. The Minority Caucus plans further scrutiny of the transaction.
