One injured in attack on Tolon Chief who allegedly endorsed Bawumia and cursed NDC

Unknown gunmen attacked the residence of the Chief of Gburmani in Gurugu, Tamale, following his declaration of support for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The attackers, armed with guns and cutlasses, injured one person, Mashud, who confronted them.

The attack occurred while the chief was attending a meeting in Yendi.

Tensions have risen since the chief's controversial political statement, where he cursed those who support the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The NDC condemned both the chief's remarks and the attack, distancing themselves from the violence.

Traditional leaders have been urged to stay neutral in politics.
