Opoku Prempeh resigns as Energy Minister

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as "Napo," has resigned as Minister for Energy to focus on his role as the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) running mate for the 2024 election.

His resignation, effective July 18, follows his nomination alongside Presidential Candidate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

President Akufo-Addo accepted his resignation, commending his significant contributions as Minister for Education and Minister for Energy.

This move underscores Napo's commitment to the NPP's campaign efforts and the party's aim to break the eight-year political cycle.
