Opposition NDC most likely to win December elections – Fitch Solutions

Research and data firm Fitch Solutions has forecasted that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) will defeat the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ghana's December 7 general elections.

According to Fitch, 54% of respondents surveyed favor NDC candidate John Mahama. Mike Kruiniger, Associate Director at Fitch Solutions, highlighted economic management and job creation as critical voter concerns, which could disadvantage the NPP due to recent economic challenges.

Kruiniger also noted that an NDC government would likely continue the current International Monetary Fund program, indicating policy continuity despite the potential change in administration.
