Ransford Gyampo Flip Flops On Presidential Debate

University of Ghana Political Science lecturer, Professor Ransford Yaw Gyampo, has faced accusations of double standards for his shifting views on presidential debates in Ghana.

In 2016, Gyampo advocated for institutionalizing debates to promote accountability and issues-based politics.

Recently, however, he dismissed the idea as impractical due to Ghana's current political conditions, calling such debates "disingenuous."

Critics argue his changing stance reflects political bias. Gyampo defends his position, emphasizing that changing one's mind based on evolving circumstances is reasonable.

His vacillating views have sparked debates about the influence of political agendas on academic integrity and electoral accountability in Ghana.
