A former military leader, Major (Rtd.) Osahene Boakye Gyan has revealed that former President John Mahama learnt the art of politics from the feet of his father E. A Mahama while Jerry John Rawlings, on the other hand, was busy playing ‘gutter to gutter football.

He, therefore, differentiated a thin line between former President Jerry John Rawlings and former President John Mahama and why there appears to be political tension between the two.

“His [Mahama’s] father was a minister in Kwame Nkrumah’s government...Mahama learnt his politics from a dining hall table when he [Rawlings] was playing ‘gutter to gutter’ football at Adabraka,” Boakye Gyan stated interview monitored by Mynewsgh.com

According to Osahene Boakye Gyan, former President Jerry John Rawlings used to criticise the late John Evans Atta-Mills and Ex-President John Dramani Mahama ‘without any justifiable reason’.

He explained that, Mr Rawlings is very envious of John Mahama and that the latter’s record is comparable to that of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

The one-time close pal of former President Rawlings also advised and expressed his disappointment in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), who now see Rawlings as their ‘hero’.

“We know Rawlings for a long time but I am sorry for the NPP who have drawn closer to him as their ‘hero’...Since 1979 – 40 years ago – I have not heeded to whatever that he says...we have never met!” he stressed.
