Former President John Mahama has attributed the return of erratic power supply, or "dumsor," to the government's failure to procure fuel for energy generation due to nearly $2 billion in debt owed to power companies.
He criticised the government for lacking transparency regarding these challenges.
The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) announced a three-week load management due to maintenance activities by a gas supplier in Nigeria.
Mahama emphasised that the power crisis is worsening business conditions, causing businesses to consider relocating from Ghana, exacerbated by high interest rates, taxes, and a depreciating currency.
