Retract and apologise for derogatory Mahama comment – NDC tells Atta Akyea

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has strongly disapproved of statements made by Samuel Atta Akyea, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Abuakwa South, alleging that their flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, is a heavy drinker.

The NDC denounced Atta Akyea's remarks as “reckless and unfounded” and requested an immediate withdrawal and apology from the NPP MP.

The party cautioned that they will exhaust all possible options to protect the reputation and integrity of their flagbearer.

The NDC highlighted Mahama's outstanding attributes and urged for a fair and respectful campaign that addresses the concerns of the Ghanaian voters.
