Slow transition of PFJ to commercial farming hindered policy’s success – Alan

Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change, has criticized the government's Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) policy for focusing too much on smallholder farming, hindering its success in achieving food security.

He believed commercial farming is key to reducing food costs and increasing production.

Kyerematen plans to launch the AgricPacs project, which will collaborate with traditional leaders to facilitate land acquisition and boost food production.

He claimed this approach will provide incentives for mass participation in agriculture, unlike the PFJ policy, which he thinks has failed to transition from smallholder to commercial farming.
