The only thing left to win corruption fight is the political will – Asah Asante

Political Science lecturer Kwame Asah Asante from the University of Ghana argues that Ghana has the necessary institutions to combat corruption, but lacks the political will to do so effectively.

Despite strong laws and the establishment of bodies like the Office of the Special Prosecutor, successive governments in the Fourth Republic have failed to meet anti-corruption expectations.

Prof. Asante emphasized that while digitization is a tool used by the current administration, it is insufficient without the political courage to prosecute wrongdoers, especially within the ruling party.

He believes that true progress against corruption requires stronger political will.
