The Volta Regional branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has presented food items to Zongo communities in the Hohoe Municipality of the Volta region.
The items, which included 21 bags of sugar and three bags of rice ware to support the communities in the Eid ul-Fitr celebrations.
Professor Margaret Kweku, NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Hohoe Constituency who made the presentation said it was the Party’s support especially from Madam Bernice Adiku Heloo, Hohoe Constituency Member of Parliament (MP) and Mr. Emmanuel K. Bedzrah, Ho-West MP for Muslims in the municipality as they continued their Ramadan fast.
She called on all Muslims to intensify their prayers for an end to the COVID-19 pandemic as well as for good health ahead of the electoral campaign of the NDC.
Mr. Siki Abibu, Volta Regional Organizer of the Party called on members of the communities to continue to adhere to all precautionary measures in the fight against the disease as they observed the annual fast.
Mr. Alhassan Batuta, Hohoe Nima Branch One NDC Chairman who received the items expressed gratitude to the Party for the kind gesture and support, adding that the items would be distributed to the benefit of all Muslims in the Municipality.
