In Kintampo North, the NDC and NPP have been violating Electoral Commission guidelines on vote transfers, leading to arrests.
However, after a meeting with the Bono East REGSEC, the parties have agreed to ensure a peaceful exercise.
The guidelines stated that only the EC can prevent vote transfers, and busing people to vote is not an offense.
Despite this, party members have been physically preventing voters from transferring their votes, causing conflicts at the Kintampo EC office.
The REGSEC and party leaders have committed to a violence-free exercise, which ends on June 14, 2024.
