Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has refuted allegations that the government is using its power to persecute opposition NDC members, following claims by NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia that Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson's court case is political persecution.
Afenyo-Markin argued that the NPP is not engaging in witch-hunting, citing President Akufo-Addo's decision not to prosecute NDC leaders over the double salary scandal as evidence.
Meanwhile, Dr. Ato Forson has filed for a mistrial in his ambulance procurement case, alleging misconduct by Attorney-General Godfred Dame, based on a leaked phone conversation.
The NPP denies the allegations, claiming the audio is manipulated.
