Some members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communications team in the Ashanti Region have boycott radio and Television programmes following neglect by party officials in the region MyNewsGh.com can report.
The communicators say they have always used their own meagre resources in communicating and making their party attractive to the people of the Ashanti Region while party officials sit unconcerned and enjoy all the resources at their disposal.
Among aggrieved communicators include; Jon Kissa, Sirr Abdallah, Kwame Atua Patrick, Uncle Wallace Ababio, Wofa Atta, Mallam Issah and host of others who have vowed to stop defending the party until their concerns are met.
According to the striking communicators who spoke to MyNewsGh.com, Regional executives of the party have neglected them claiming they themselves have not received a pesewa from anyone as a form of appreciation and motivation to keep communicating for the party.
“Though we are in opposition but we cannot go and talk on radio and television without food. Sometimes we have to walk from our various homes to radio and television stations to talk. Imagine walking from Pankrono to Santasi, Adum, Asafo to defend and project your party. A hungry man is always an angry man. We cannot be on radio and television without food. We will only go on radio and television if our executives and the party are ready to address our concerns” they said.
They added that majority of the party communicators in the region are ready to join their strike action since they are also hungry and feel disappointed in the leadership of the party towards their plight.
