You need a strong economist as running mate – Lecturer to JM

An Economics Lecturer at the Sunyani Technical University, Mr Osei Kwaku Tuah, has advised the flagbearer of the largest opposition party NDC Mr John Dramani Mahama to appoint a running mate who has a strong financial and economic background to be able to have a good contest in the 2020 election.

He said Ghana needs development and since Former President Mahama is a historian and a communicator he needs a running mate who can match Dr Bawumia boot for boot.

Mr Tuah noted that the running mate should be able to give Dr Bawumia high contest for Ghanaians to have trust in him rather than appointing someone just because the person is a member of the NDC party.

The presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, said he is in consultation with the party’s structures on his choice of a running mate.

In a live Facebook session on Thursday, June 18, Mr Mahama said, “Following the easing of restrictions, I have requested our functional executive committee to arrange a meeting of the Council of Elders and the National Executive Committee (NEC) to finalise my constitutional obligation to consult these bodies on the choice of my running mate.”
