The beauty in arts; a perfect illustration of one's daily life represented in shades of colors.

On Saturday, 21st August 2021 I walked into the Sound Out Arts Exhibition at the Grand Arena, AICC.

My eyes did not believe the masterpiece of arts exhibited but my soul inhaled the beauty, craft, and dynamism of art pieces showcased.

Taking a conscious tour for a comprehensive understanding, I chanced on Mr. Kwaku Genfi, an artist who after years of struggling, Sayreville resident Kwaku Genfi found recognition as an artist.“Sisters,” one of his many arts on display can be located at the East Brunswick municipal building.

Kwaku Genfi showcasing breathtaking arts on the night had vivid meanings to all his paintings and narrated that such meanings bring out the natural feel of the work.

"There’s a saying about being young, wild, and free. The “Stallion” represents the power, joy, and the beautiful chaos of defiantly living an authentic life" an explanation for his most gazed Stallion painting on the night.

Without any formal education on arts, Kwaku Genfi's artistic expression comes as a unique talent and up until 10 years ago, Genfi’s artistic repertoire was still limited to drawing and sketching till a friend introduced him to pastels and oil paints, then he saw a whole new world open up to him.

After he won several employee art contests at the Manhattan, Waldorf Astoria — and had the honor of having a painting displayed at the hotel’s restaurant — Genfi became encouraged to resume his quest to become a professional artist.

Throwing more light on the arts industry in Ghana, Kwaku Genfi acknowledged the opportunity to be a part of the art exhibition and "The art field is not so good". Genfi explained during a recent tour of his display. "You have great artists, but as far as selling your artwork, the locals don’t pay as much. Most of them do not understand art."

"Also the most basic art supplies are often in short supply in Ghana. Even in the capital city of Accra" he added.

Agreeing to his new tagline "The Unknown African Artist" Kwaku Genfi happily cited reasons for him loving the tagline "I feel am yet to explore the art space and as such art lovers in Africa would relate to the tagline".

In reaching the current peak of my career as an artist "I had to read a lot of books to get a lot of techniques and to experiment on my own," he explained.
