Acadia Industries Limited, Licensee of Tampico US in Ghana has played a significant sponsorship role in the maiden edition of the Global Junior Model United Nations Conference which came off from Friday, June 17, 2022, to Sunday, June 19, 2022, at the Balme Library of the University of Ghana campus in Legon, Accra.
The theme for the conference organized by IFED GLOBAL, a non-profit organization that aims at empowering the youth in the areas of Leadership and economic growth and development was, “Nurturing Young Minds for Sustainable Development.”
Acadia Industries Limited, producers of Tampico have shown great interest in developing and preparing the young children for the greater benefit and attainment of a successful and progressive future in addition to providing refreshing and exciting fruit juices enriched with vitamin Children and the youth in boosting their physical strength, and emotional well-being, and cognitive ability.
Conference organizers in a statement thanked Acadia Industries Limited for supporting their initiative with bottles of Tampico to the young delegates. Acheampong Tutu, the Executive President of IFED GLOBAL expressed much appreciation for the support from Acadia Industries Limited.
The conference witnessed various educative activities including Global Village, Model UN simulation, speeches from guests, and discussions from several great personalities, and was climaxed with an awards ceremony to award outstanding delegates.
The two (2) day program was attended by over 70 kids between the ages of 10 – 18 years from within and outside Ghana. The event also hosted prominent speakers like Crystal Kwame-Aryee, Kokui Selormey Hanson, Kafui Dey, Jackie Mpare, John Appiah-Affaidzi, Mavis Leonards, Dr. Ewurama Danquah Tawiah, Dorcas Ama Mensah of GHS, Adom Owusu- Ofori and the Special Guest of Honour, Her Excellency the former Second Lady, Mrs. Matilda Amissah – Arthur.
Also, in attendance, as a delegate was Nakeeyat Dramani Sam, winner of TV3 Ghana’s Talented Kids Season 10 who also graced the Opening Plenary with a poetry recital.
The conference also saw Angel-Florence Narh emerging as the Overall Best Conference Delegate. Other award winners included Jayden Yeboah Amoah, Joseph Kofi Baffour-Awuah, Victoria Adomako, Ruth Peterson, Denis Kwesi Ketu, and Mildred Anim-Langton. All award winners received prizes from Acadia Industries Limited.
Participants gleaned from the speakers as speakers imparted highly to them the various experiences, knowledge, and skills they have garnered throughout their stages of progress in life and fields of study to their present stage to help the young ones follow in their footsteps even as they chart paths for themselves.
