The inaugural edition of the Africa Social Impact Festival is set to kick off in Accra on October 2. It will run series of events and campaigns all through to December, with support from MTN Ghana Foundation, Mahogany Consult, Rebranded Lady Foundation, AIDDIN, and My Help Your Help Foundation.
The festival, which seeks to bring together key players in Africa within the space of non-governmental organizations, foundations, charities, philanthropies, social interventions, and corporate social investment is dedicated to promoting networking, ideas sharing, synergy creation, fundraising, showcasing, and creation of strong visibility for their social causes.
In a statement by the Festival Manager, Nii Commey, he expressed delight and optimism regarding the partnership.
“We are very optimistic that this festival will serve as a springboard to reawaken the experiences, talent, and commitments of Africans to promote the culture of giving back to the needy, society, and funding developmental projects. The festival is open to all who have the spirit of doing social good, either in their own small way or largely as a formalized or institutionalized entities. We are, therefore, leveraging on the goodwill we have built with or partners to give us the impetus to continue working with socially responsible people and corporate bodies like them. We are confident that the key objective of AFROSIF 2021, which is to create platforms for all key and emerging players within the social intervention space to showcase, tell their stories and inspire the world to cultivate the attitude of social good, will yield positive results after this event.” He spoke.
AFROSIF 2021 will run till December, as the festival looks forward to engaging as many African social impact makers through the creation of avenues for the exhibition of social impact stories, showcasing and storytelling building strategic partnerships and synergies, presenting opportunities to network to create positive change as well as influence policies and generate a significant positive impact.
Highlights of the festival include the official launch of the Social Impact Channel, an exciting digital television channel designed and created for individuals, foundations, and corporate bodies to showcase their social impact activities and contribute to discourses surrounding social activities.
This Social Impact Summit platform has been created for players who have, over the years, touched communities, shaped futures, influenced attitudes, and transform behaviors in their quests to complement developmental efforts by governments towards the attainment of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The festival will connect diverse stakeholders within the social intervention space from across Africa through zoom and Facebook live.
