Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has been adjudged the best “Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Compliant institution” in the MDA category in the country. The recognition was highlighted at the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) Annual Audit Conference held recently in Accra. GRIDCo’s Director of Internal Audit, Richard Ntim was also awarded the “Best Internal Auditor” in the MDA category at the same event.

The elevation reflects a concerted effort by the power transmission company to project the highest level of enterprise risk management compliance and corporate governance by the Board and Management of the Company. The organizers praised the company’s establishment of functional ERM systems, which have improved decision-making and minimized the risks.

Commenting on the accolades, GRIDCo Board Chairman, Ambassador Kabral Blay Amihere said:

“Our commitment has always been to ensure a robust and efficient organization dedicated to harnessing the resources and tools available to deliver on its mandate. It is quite satisfying and exciting that our achievements have been recognized by the Internal Audit Agency.”

GRIDCo justifiably met all the criteria for the award, including the establishment of a functional Risk Management Committee (RMC), a Risk Management Policy framework and an updated Risk Register.

Director of Internal Audit, Richard Ntim, highlighted good team effort for the company’s achievements:

“I owe this recognition to the team at the Audit Department for their relentless commitment to execution and monitoring. Their resolve to always go the extra mile in achieving results made these awards possible.

GRIDCo plays a key role in the power sector by ensuring the efficient transmission of power from major generating companies to neighboring countries, major bulk consumers, and key distribution companies, including the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Northern Distribution Company of Ghana (NEDCo).
