Ghana Link Network Services Ltd won big at the just ended 2020 edition of the Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA) Awards held in Accra, securing three distinguished awards.

Ghana Link on the night of the awards picked the Best Trade Facilitation organization of the year and Excellence in Innovation & Technology company of the year.

Nick Danson Adjei was adjudged “The Personality of the year”.

Ghana Link Network Services Ltd (GLNS), a Ghanaian-claimed exchange assistance organization cleared three honors at the just-finished fourth release of the Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA) Awards held in Accra.

Speaking at the ceremony aimed at recognizing achievements from local and international companies operating in the shipping and logistics industry, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ghana Shippers Authority, Ms. Benonita Bismarck touted the efficiency of Ghana Link’s ICUMS software as having sanitized the goods clearance process at the ports and promoted the ease of doing business at the nation’s harbors.

She indicated that the honor was to give a stage to perceive people and organizations that assume a critical part in the development and improvement of the business while perceiving the vital capacities inside the business that advance development and supportability.

She mentioned, the awards which cut across road transportation, ocean carriers, air transportation, freight forwarding, shipping agents, express services, courier agencies, government agencies, insurance, and financial institutions were aiming to recognize distinction in the field, and also to promote the interests of the industry – nationally and internationally.

The Deputy Minister of Transport, Hon. Frederick Adom Obeng, in his address on behalf of the Minister also praised ICUMS as having been a major breakthrough for Ghana's port in terms of revenue mobilization as well as Trade Facilitation. He mentioned that Government is intent on reducing taxes in the shipping industry to help in the trade Facilitation drive.

The organization was remunerated for its extraordinary job in exchange for assistance business with the arrangement of ICUMS at the nation's ports.

The program which was under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Transport was in organization with the Ghana Shippers Authority and upheld by the Ghana Ports and Harbors Authority (GPHA) and Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) was under the topic "The Digital Maritime and Shipping Industry: Impact on our Economy."

The Ghana Shippers Awards provides a platform to recognize individuals and companies that play a significant role in the growth and development of the industry while recognizing the key functions within the shipping industry that promote growth and sustainability.

This year’s awards scheme was themed “The Digital Maritime and Shipping Industry: Impact on our Economy.”
